Questions teams ask before moving to SyncCatalog.
These are the practical questions that usually come up during evaluation, implementation and procurement.
Can you migrate our existing catalog?
Yes. SyncCatalog implementation can include review and migration of existing structured catalog information such as spreadsheets, CSV exports and supported database exports.
Do we need to clean everything before migration?
No. Part of implementation is identifying structural problems, inconsistent fields, duplicates and incomplete information before those issues are carried into the new environment.
How long does implementation take?
Implementation time depends on catalog size, data quality, number of source systems, file volume, workflow complexity and customer availability. The scope is reviewed before production migration begins rather than assigning one timeline to every organization.
Can our catalog remain private?
Yes. Public-facing catalog features are separate from the internal working environment. Organizations control what they choose to make publicly available.
Can public submissions be disabled?
Yes. Public-facing workflows are configurable and do not need to be used by every organization.
Do our clients need SyncCatalog accounts?
Not for every public or externally shared workflow. Some customer- facing and public-facing functions can be accessed without making every outside contact part of the internal team.
Who owns our music, metadata and business data?
Customer music, metadata, rights information and business records remain customer content. SyncCatalog provides the platform used to organize and manage that information.
Can we export our data later?
Export and transition requirements should be discussed during implementation or procurement, particularly for organizations with specific contractual or internal data-governance requirements.
Is AI required to use SyncCatalog?
No. AI-assisted features are part of the broader platform capability, but the core catalog, rights, CRM, pitching, licensing and operational workflows do not depend on a customer using AI for every task.
Does AI replace our metadata or licensing decisions?
No. AI-assisted functions are intended to support workflow and analysis. Organizations remain responsible for the information, rights decisions and business actions they approve.
Can we use our own branding?
SyncCatalog includes organization branding and public-facing presentation options. Available branding and site capabilities depend on the features enabled for the organization.
Can our public catalog look like our company instead of SyncCatalog?
SyncCatalog Sites is designed to give organizations branded, customer-facing catalog experiences while using the same underlying catalog and workflow system.
Is SyncCatalog Desktop included?
SyncCatalog Desktop is part of the SyncCatalog product strategy and is intended to work alongside the hosted platform. Current plan entitlements should be confirmed during evaluation or purchase.
Do we have to replace every existing tool immediately?
No. Implementation can be phased. Existing systems can remain available while data and workflows are validated before the old process is retired.
What happens during the 7-day evaluation?
The evaluation is intended to let qualified organizations review the working platform and determine whether SyncCatalog fits their operational requirements before committing to deployment.
Is the evaluation the same as full implementation?
No. Evaluation is for product fit and workflow review. Production migration, organization setup and full implementation are separate steps once the customer decides to proceed.
What support is available?
SyncCatalog includes a public Support Center and platform support workflows. Support requirements for larger or more complex organizations can be reviewed during procurement.
What are your business hours?
Standard business hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Pacific Time.
How is security handled?
SyncCatalog uses HTTPS, tenant-scoped data access, role-based authorization, security-focused automated testing, backup monitoring and browser security controls.
More detail is available on the Security & Trust page.
Can our IT, security or procurement team review SyncCatalog?
Yes. Organizations with technical, contractual, deployment, security or procurement requirements should raise them during evaluation so those requirements can be reviewed directly.
Is there a contract?
Commercial terms depend on the product and customer arrangement. Contract and subscription details are provided as part of the purchasing process.
